Washington, D.C. – The leaders of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui, Mike Quigley, and Paul Tonko and Vice Chairs Reps. Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, released the following statement in response to the House passage of the National Coal Council Reestablishment Act (H.R. 3015), Promoting Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure Act (H.R. 3062), and Guaranteeing Reliability through the Interconnection of Dispatchable Power Act (H.R. 1047), which continue to prioritize dirty, expensive energy sources over cleaner and cheaper options.

Washington, D.C. – Today, members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Vice Chairs Reps. Sean Casten (IL-06), Mike Levin (CA-49), and Chellie Pingree (ME-01) and SEEC Member Rep. Lloyd Doggett (TX-37), held a press conference at the Capitol to oppose Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin’s proposed rollbacks of EPA’s landmark Endangerment Finding and vehicle emissions standards that will make our air dirtier, our children less safe, and our lives more expensive.

Washington, D.C. – The Co-Chairs of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Lands, Waters, and Nature Task Force Reps. Doris Matsui (CA), Don Beyer (VA), and Maxine Dexter (OR) sent a letter calling on U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Brooke Rollins to provide robust opportunities for public engagement and input on USDA’s proposal to rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule (Roadless Rule), which aims to undermine the successful management of millions of acres of National Forest System lands across America.

Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee spent hours Tuesday evening torching Republicans’ efforts to use their sweeping party-line bill to roll back billions of dollars for clean energy and environment programs while boosting fossil fuels.

The markup of the committee’s portion of the GOP megabill — which was still going Wednesday morning — saw Democrats push a barrage of amendments aimed at provisions that would repeal funding for climate initiatives and allow natural gas producers to pay to expedite project approvals.
