Washington, D.C. – The leaders of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui, Mike Quigley, and Paul Tonko and Vice Chairs Reps. Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s announcement that — in the midst of Republicans’ Government Shutdown — the Department of Energy is illegally cancelling $7.5 billion in critical projects dedicated to strengthening our energy independence and building a clean, homegrown American manufacturing economy.

Washington, D.C. – This week, members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Co-Chairs Reps. Paul Tonko (NY-20) and Doris Matsui (CA-07) and Vice Chairs Reps. Sean Casten (IL-06), Chellie Pingree (ME-01), as well as Members Reps. Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), Kathy Castor (FL-14), Maxine Dexter (OR-03), Dave Min (CA-47), and Melanie Stansbury (NM-01), participated in numerous New York Climate Week 2025 events to demonstrate continued leadership on climate action at the federal level. SEEC members discussed an array of topics at Climate Week from highlighting the fight to create good-paying climate jobs, as well as building resilient and affordable housing in America, to unveiling federal legislation that will ensure Americans have access to cheap, reliable, and clean energy.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Climate and Agriculture Task Force Co-Chairs, Reps. Chellie Pingree (ME-01) and Kim Schrier (WA-08), along with Task Force Members Reps. Julia Brownley (CA-26), Jennifer McClellan (VA-04), Jim McGovern (MA-02), and Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), sent a letter to the House Agriculture Committee urging them to continue to support America’s farmers in their climate-resilient conservation efforts through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) critical climate-smart agriculture programs in the upcoming Farm Bill negotiations.

Washington, D.C. – This week, members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) led their state delegations in sending public comment letters in response to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin’s proposed rollbacks of EPA’s landmark Endangerment Finding and vehicle emissions standards. These letters were sent alongside SEEC’s 154-Member public comment letter to EPA highlighting climate change-impact stories across the nation.

Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, led a public comment letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin in opposition to the EPA’s proposal to rescind the landmark 2009 Endangerment Finding that greenhouse gases threaten public health and welfare. A total of 154 Members of Congress called on Administrator Zeldin to stop his attacks on pollution protections for the American people.

Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, released the following statement in response to the House passage of the National Coal Council Reestablishment Act (H.R. 3015), Promoting Cross-Border Energy Infrastructure Act (H.R. 3062), and Guaranteeing Reliability through the Interconnection of Dispatchable Power Act (H.R. 1047), which continue to prioritize dirty, expensive energy sources over cleaner and cheaper options.

Lloyd Doggett (TX-37), held a press conference at the Capitol to oppose Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin’s proposed rollbacks of EPA’s landmark Endangerment Finding and vehicle emissions standards that will make our air dirtier, our children less safe, and our lives more expensive.
