Washington, D.C. – The leaders of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui, Mike Quigley, and Paul Tonko and Vice Chairs Reps. Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, led a public comment letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin in opposition to the EPA’s proposal to rescind the landmark 2009 Endangerment Finding that greenhouse gases threaten public health and welfare. A total of 154 Members of Congress called on Administrator Zeldin to stop his attacks on pollution protections for the American people.

Dave Min (CA) and Johnny Olszewski (MD) sent a letter to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretaries Scott Turner and Brooke Rollins in response to HUD and USDA’s Notice for Comment on July 7th, which aims to rollback key energy efficiency building codes that are saving homeowners and renters thousands of dollars on their energy bills.

Kathy Castor (FL-14) and SEEC Co-Chair Paul Tonko (NY-20) led a letter to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, urging the agency to not repeal greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards for fossil fuel-fired power plants, a significant threat to the American people and their pocketbooks. They were joined by SEEC Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui (CA-7) and Mike Quigley (IL-5) along with 81 of their House Democratic colleagues.

Previously, SEEC sent a letter in February condemning Administrator Zeldin’s reported recommendation to strike down EPA’s Endangerment Finding.
