Washington, D.C.The Co-Chairs of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Clean Energy Deployment Task Force, Reps. Sean Casten (IL) and Mike Levin (CA), released the following statement after Senators Joe Manchin (I-WV) and John Barrasso (R-WY) unveiled the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024.

“We are pleased to see that some of the transmission and renewable energy priorities we have outlined in the Casten-Levin Clean Electricity and Transmission Acceleration Act are included in the Manchin-Barrasso bill,” said the SEEC Clean Energy Deployment Task Force Co-Chairs. “While there are aspects of the bill that can be improved upon and provisions that we have concerns about, we are eager to continue the critical discussion on permitting reform as we strive to enact a law that will equitably accelerate adoption of clean energy and transmission.”
