SEEC Climate Jobs Task Force Endorses Bills to Support Good-Paying, Family-Sustaining Jobs in America’s Clean Energy Economy
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Climate Jobs Task Force, led by Co-Chairs Reps. Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01), Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), and Mark DeSaulnier (CA-10), announced the endorsement of bills that advocate for pro-worker, pro-climate policies to protect a resilient American clean energy economy.
“The SEEC Climate Jobs Task Force is dedicated to advancing robust pro-worker, pro-climate policies to ensure that the American clean energy economy is powered by good-paying, family-sustaining jobs,” said Task Force Co-Chairs Reps. Suzanne Bonamici, Nikki Budzinski, and Mark DeSaulnier. “This year, the Trump Administration has launched an unprecedented assault on hard-working Americans who have dedicated their lives to deploying America’s clean energy economy, driving our homegrown manufacturing renaissance, and keeping our communities safe from pollution. The bills we have endorsed confront the Trump Administration’s attacks on America’s federal workers, ensure that our workforce is protected from rising temperatures, and support future good-paying jobs in competitive American industries. Our Task Force will continue to develop and advance durable, forward-looking policy solutions that will build the next generation of America’s workforce in a globally competitive clean energy economy.”
Today, the Task Force endorsed six bills:
- H.R. 3093 – Restoring Employment and Hiring Incentives for Removed Employees (REHIRE) Act, Rep. Don Beyer (VA-08)
- H.R. 1989 – Protect Our Probationary Employees Act, Rep. Sarah Elfreth (MD-03)
- H.R. 5104 – Preventing Health Emergencies and Temperature-related (HEAT) Illness and Deaths Act of 2025, Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01)
- H.R. 4443 – Asunción Valdivia Heat Illness, Injury, and Fatality Prevention Act of 2025, Rep. Judy Chu (CA-28)
- H.R. 1662 – Leveraging and Energizing America’s Apprenticeship Programs (LEAP) Act, Rep. Nikki Budzinski (IL-13)

Background
In the 119th Congress, SEEC’s Climate Jobs Task Force will focus on advocating for pro-worker policies with an emphasis on energy security by uniting labor and industry groups to ensure an economically beneficial energy transition. Topics will include workforce development through registered apprenticeships and tax incentives, improving job quality and density within domestic energy production, and building on American energy dominance through a strong clean energy workforce. The task force will also prioritize domestic manufacturing policies that ensure the clean energy supply chain is robust and resilient, supporting American jobs and energy security.
