Environmental Rising Star Kilmer Grows Brighter

September 18, 2013

Washington, D.C.—The House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) is pleased to welcome Congressman Derek Kilmer (WA-06) to its membership.

Rep. Kilmer said of joining SEEC: “Being from Pacific Northwest, I understand the moral imperative and economic opportunity to protect our environment. I’m proud to join this forward-thinking coalition that promotes protecting our natural resources while creating jobs in the renewable energy sector.”

“SEEC is pleased to welcome a rising environmental star, Congressman Derek Kilmer,” said SEEC Co-Chair Rep. Gerry Connolly (VA-11). “In a short time, he has demonstrated real environmental leadership, taking charge of protecting the Puget Sound. He understands that environmental protection and economic growth go hand-in-hand. His work will enhance SEEC’s efforts to protect the environment, transition to a clean energy economy, and fight climate change.”

With the addition of Congressman Kilmer, SEEC now has 56 members.
