Washington D.C. – Today, the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) announced its task forces for the 118th Congress. Each task force is focused on a different aspect of the climate crisis that SEEC will push for congressional and executive action on this Congress.

Gerry Connolly, released the following statement after President Biden celebrated the progress the U.S. has made in transitioning to a clean economy since taking office in his State of the Union address.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the members of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) voted on its leadership for the 118th Congress. Reps. Doris Matsui and Paul Tonko were reelected as Co-Chairs and will be joined by Rep. Mike Quigley as Co-Chair as well. Reps. Matt Cartwright and Chellie Pingree were reelected as Vice Chairs and will be joined by Reps. Don Beyer, Sean Casten, and Katie Porter also as Vice Chairs.

Gerry Connolly, Doris Matsui, and Paul Tonko and Vice Chairs Reps. Matt Cartwright, Alan Lowenthal, A. Donald McEachin, Chellie Pingree, and Mike Quigley, and an additional 31 House members, along with Sens. Jeff Merkley, Ed Markey, Cory Booker, Sheldon Whitehouse, Chris Murphy, Bernie Sanders, Richard Blumenthal, Elizabeth Warren, Ron Wyden, Tina Smith, Michael Bennet, Ben Cardin, Brian Schatz, Tom Carper, and Chris Van Hollen sent joint letters to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees urging that robust international climate funding is preserved in the final Fiscal Year 2023 funding package.

Kim Schrier, released a report on policy recommendations for next year's reauthorization of the Farm Bill to ensure it is as climate-friendly as possible.
