SEEC Endorses 21 Bills to Deliver Clean Energy and a Healthy Environment for America
Washington, D.C. – Today, the leaders of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC), including Co-Chairs Reps. Doris Matsui, Mike Quigley, and Paul Tonko and Vice Chairs Reps. Don Beyer, Suzanne Bonamici, Sean Casten, Mike Levin, and Chellie Pingree, endorsed 21 SEEC member-led bills to champion clean energy, a healthy environment, and thriving American communities.
“Since our founding in 2009, SEEC has remained steadfast in our commitment to advancing solutions that address climate change, promote clean energy innovation and domestic manufacturing, and protect our nation’s air, water, and natural environment. We are now proud to count more than half of the House Democratic Caucus among our ranks as we collectively work towards a healthy, safe, and affordable life here in America.
“This past year has demonstrated just how far the Trump Administration will go to gut our clean energy economy, sell out our public lands at bargain-basement prices, provide giveaways to Trump’s billionaire polluters, undermine science-based decision-making and American innovation, and turn the clock back on climate progress for a healthy and safe future for our children. The bills we are endorsing today reiterate that we must protect our nature and wildlife, invest in American science and clean energy innovation, hold polluters and corrupt corporations accountable, and safeguard our communities against rapidly worsening extreme weather fueled by the climate crisis. This is the future that the American people want and deserve.
“We look forward to working with our colleagues in Congress to deliver a healthy and affordable life for generations of Americans.”
