Washington, D.C. – The Co-Chairs of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) – Reps. Doris Matsui, Mike Quigley, and Paul Tonko – and SEEC Members Reps. Kathy Castor and Mike Levin, released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized strong limits on pollution from fossil fuel-fired power plants, including a rule via EPA’s authority under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act. These five members led a letter along with 95 of their colleagues last July calling for the swift finalization of the strongest possible carbon pollution standards for power plants by early 2024.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Climate and National Security Task Force, led by Co-Chairs Rep. Andy Kim and Rep. Katie Porter, sent a letter to the House Armed Services Committee to ensure that the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (FY25 NDAA) supports a robust national defense strategy that prioritizes military installation resilience, fortifies energy security, and protects the health and safety of our military personnel.

Mike Levin (CA-49) and Sean Casten (IL-06), released the following statement in response to the finalization of the Renewable Energy Rule from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), which will spur the responsible development of clean energy on America’s public lands.

Gerry Connolly, released the following statement in response to the finalization of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) first-ever national drinking water standard for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). In February, SEEC sent a letter to the Biden Administration urging them to swiftly finalize the proposed drinking water standard.

Washington, D.C. – The House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) Nature and Oceans Task Force Co-Chair, Rep. Doris Matsui, and Task Force Members, Rep. Jared Huffman and Rep. John Sarbanes, sent a letter to the Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack in strong support of U.S. Forest Service’s (USFS) proposal to amend all land management plans across the National Forest System to conserve existing old-growth forest and recruit future old-growth forest across America. The letter was signed by 48 House Democrats.
