To further inform the conversation, attendees will watch an episode from Showtime’s climate change documentary series “Years of Living Dangerously” examining the health and security implications associated with climate change. A Q&A session with the panel will take place after the screening.

Required by Congress through the United States Global Change Research Act of 1990, the NCA is the product of four years of work by hundreds of our nation's top scientists. Washington, D.C.—Today, House Republicans passed H.R. 3189, the so-called Water Rights Protection Act. The originally stated intent of the bill was to address a dispute between the Forest Service and ski resorts that operate on Forest Service land. Unfortunately, yet again, House Republicans couldn’t resist using this local issue as a vehicle to attack other federal agencies—agencies that had no hand in the issue—instead of constructively working to reach a resolution.

Washington, D.C.—During today’s consideration of H.R. 3590, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act, Members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) offered an amendment to ensure the Secretary of the Interior maintains the authority to consider climate change when making decisions regarding conservation and recreational activities on public lands.
